Do you have experience assessing women and presentations that are harder to identify? +

Yes. Assessments take into account more subtle or masked presentations, which are often seen in women and adults. The process is designed to look beyond surface-level behaviours.

I’m nervous about whether an assessment is right for me +

Do you have experience with individuals assigned female at birth and those with high masking presentations? +

I’m not sure I want others contacted as part of my assessment – is that okay? +

Yes. Collateral information can be helpful, but we will always discuss this with you and respect your preferences. Assessments can still proceed if this is not something you’re comfortable with.

What happens if I don’t get a diagnosis? +

You will still receive a detailed report outlining the assessment findings, along with practical recommendations and insights into your strengths and challenges.

Can I complete the assessment via Telehealth? +

Yes. Many components of the assessment can be completed via Telehealth. We can discuss what format is most appropriate for your situation.

Is this considered a formal diagnosis? +

Yes. Where appropriate, diagnoses are made using DSM-5-TR criteria and evidence-based assessment tools, and are outlined clearly in your report.

What do the different levels of autism and ADHD mean? +

Autism levels describe the level of support a person may need, while ADHD is typically described by presentation (inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined). We explain this clearly in your feedback session.

Can I use this report to apply for NDIS funding? +

Reports are comprehensive and may be used as part of an NDIS application. However, eligibility decisions are made by the NDIS, and additional documentation may sometimes be required.

What is the assessment space like? +

The assessment environment is calm, quiet, and designed to feel comfortable and low-pressure. We aim to create a space where you can engage openly.

What’s the difference between a psychologist’s and a psychiatrist’s assessment? +

Psychologists focus on detailed assessment, diagnosis, and understanding of cognitive and behavioural patterns. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can prescribe medication. In some cases, both roles may be part of ongoing care.

How long does it take to receive the report? +

Do I need a referral? +

A referral is not required to book an assessment. However, a valid referral may be needed if you are seeking Medicare rebates.

You don’t need to prepare anything specific. If you have relevant documents, such as school reports or previous assessments, you are welcome to bring them.

I’m worried others don’t notice my neurodivergent differences. Could this affect my assessment? +

No. Assessments consider both your internal experience and observable patterns. Subtle or less visible presentations are carefully explored as part of the process.

Can you complete forms for university or work accommodations after the assessment? +

Yes. Where appropriate, we can assist with supporting documentation or forms following your assessment.

How do you differentiate between autism, ADHD and trauma? +

What age range do you assess? +

What if I don’t agree with something in my report? +
